Process codes are used in deliveries to record various discrepancies – damaged goods, shortages, overdeliveries and others.

Process codes are maintained in SPRO:

Extended Warehouse Management - Cross-Process Settings - Delivery - Warehouse Request - Process Codes - Define Process Codes

  • Process Code – the process code itself
  • Partner Role – the partner role the exception code is «charged» to.

If the «Confirm Exceptions for These Partners to ERP System» indicator is set for this partner role in SPRO - Interfaces - Delivery Processing - Map Partner Roles from ERP System to EWM, then the exception code is transferred to the ERP system.

  • Quantity Adjustment – three options are possible:
    • «No quantity adjustment» – in this case applying the code does not change the quantity in the delivery item. This option can be used to record damaged goods that are nevertheless received into the warehouse.
    • «Adjust delivery quantity» – with this option the exception code changes the quantity in the delivery item. This option is used for shortages and overdeliveries.
    • «Adjust delivery quantity and transported quantity» – in this case the quantity in the delivery item is corrected and a new delivery is created for the difference (the original delivery is split).
  • Can Be Changed – if set, a previously applied code can be deleted.
  • In Background – if this indicator is set, the process code will not be visible in the delivery user interface, but it can be applied in standard reports that run in the background, or called from ABAP code.
  • Quantity Adjustment to Zero – adjustment of the quantity to zero only. If this parameter is set, this process code can only adjust the delivery item to zero. Any other adjustments will not be applied by the system.

The process code is assigned to a delivery profile in SPRO:

Extended Warehouse Management - Cross-Process Settings - Delivery - Warehouse Request - Process Codes - Maintain Process Code Profiles

Description of the settings fields:

  • Inactive – temporary deactivation of the process code
  • Default – the process code used by default, for example when mass adjustment is performed from the monitor

  • Send – if set, then for the permitted partner roles (see the previous setting) the process codes of inbound delivery items only are transferred to ERP, in the field /SCWM/SPE_BAPIIBDLVITEMCONF-EXCEPTION_CODE. SAP ERP does not support several process codes in one delivery item at the same time, so the last code is always the one that is sent.
