Do you have a twin-fork forklift? Then EWM has just moved a little closer to you. Let us look at what exactly has changed.
SAP EWM 9.5 introduced the option to merge two or more warehouse orders (WO) into a single warehouse order at the moment the order is picked up. You need this when resources working in the same queue differ in capacity – some can move one pallet at a time, others two or more. Accordingly, warehouse orders can always be cut by the smallest-capacity rule when they are created, that is one handling unit per warehouse order, and then merged into one order when a resource with a larger capacity starts working on it. Schematically it looks like this:

The feature is activated in the BAdI /scwm/ex_rsrc_rebundle. This BAdI is called at the end of function module /SCWM/RSRC_QUALIF_QUEUE_CHECK when a warehouse order is picked up in system-guided mode.
Note: in semi-automatic mode it is called from function module /SCWM/RF_SEMI_SGUID_PAI.
First the method /scwm/ex_rsrc_rebundle=>resource_capacity is called. In this BAdI you can define the maximum number of handling units (pallets) the resource can carry:

If that is more than the capacity of the current resource that took the warehouse order for execution, the next BAdI method is called to look for other orders that can be merged with it – /scwm/ex_rsrc_rebundle => wt_select.

After that the standard class method for merging orders is executed, /scwm/cl_rf_rsrc_rebundling=>wo_rebundling:

Once the standard functionality has run, the method /scwm/ex_rsrc_rebundle=>post_rebundle_man is called, in which you can cancel the merge and write an execution log:

I have never come across a twin-fork forklift in my life, but they do exist in warehouses and they too need to be used in the most efficient way possible.
