Continuing the description of what the standard SAP EWM exception codes are for. Today we look at CHBA, CHHU, CRID, CUOM and CUO2.

 CHBA - Change Batch

Derived from the abbreviation CHange BAtch

Used in deconsolidation, putaway, picking and internal movements.

In deconsolidation of an inbound delivery.

During automatic deconsolidation the system proposes how to deconsolidate depending on the deconsolidation settings. This exception code lets you change the batch proposed in the deconsolidation HU to the one you need.

In putaway of an inbound delivery.

If:

  • the inbound delivery item status DCO <> 9, that is, the confirmation has not yet been sent to ERP and the goods receipt data can therefore still be changed
  • and the batch was not determined externally (E) or manually (M) in the inbound delivery item

then this exception code allows you to change the original batch to another one when confirming the putaway warehouse task.

In picking for an outbound delivery.

If batch selection criteria are specified in the outbound delivery item, the system looks for a suitable batch when the task is created and creates the warehouse task with the batch it found. At that point the batch is not yet written into the delivery item. While executing the warehouse order in RF you can change the originally required batch to a new one with this exception code.

In internal movements.

If the source storage type has the batch availability setting « Available Quantity for Batch», the source batch is determined at the moment the movement warehouse task is created. With this exception code you can change the batch determined by the system to another one on the source data screen while executing the warehouse task in RF.

CHHU - Change Destination HU

Derived from the abbreviation CHange HU (Handling Unit)

Used in putaway, goods issue and internal movements.

In putaway you can change the destination HU when confirming the warehouse task.

In internal movements and goods issue you can change the pick HU on the source data screen, and the destination HU on the destination data screen.

CRID – Create Inspection Document.

Derived from the abbreviation Create Inspection Document

This exception code is used to create inspection documents manually, for example:

  • In the program /SCWM/R_STOCK_TYPE_CHANGE
  • In RF, under the menu Internal Processes – Quality Management

CUOM - Change Alternative UoM

Derived from the abbreviation Change Unit Of Measure

This exception code can be used in the packing transaction /SCWM/PACK when repacking a product, and it is also used in RF when the function code CHGUOM is applied, which changes the alternative unit of measure of the stock. In RF it is used in the following processes:

  • When counting a product in RF, at step IVHUIC
  • When repacking manually in RF, at step PAPHIN
  • When putting a product away in RF, at step PTMASC or PTMADS
  • During HU deconsolidation in RF, at step SPPHIN
  • When picking a product in RF, at steps PIMTTO, PIBLMT, PICPMT

CUO2 - Change Alternative UoM in the Monitor

The code is used in the background when the alternative unit of measure of stock is changed in the monitor (by a method in the physical stock node).
